Steps
- Sign in or sign up for the Levy Portal
To lodge a CTF levy, you must sign up for the Levy Portal. The sign-up process for owner-builders takes 5-10 minutes. The sign-up process for businesses may take to 3 working days. - Lodge and pay the CTF Levy
Lodge your construction work and pay the levy. Payment via credit card and electronic fund transfer are accepted. Access the CTF Levy portal here . - Receive the levy receipt
The levy receipt will be sent to your email. If you pay by credit card, we will send you the transaction receipt within 5 minutes and a levy receipt within 3 working days. If you pay by electronic fund transfer, we will send you the levy receipt within 3 working days. - Perform construction works
This is where the hard work happens! Ensure that you explore the grants that you may be eligible to receive here. - Report the actual value of construction work
After construction is completed, calculate and report the actual value of construction work if the value has changed significantly. Read about it in the Levy FAQs page. - Receive a refund or pay additional CTF levy
If the actual value of construction work has varied significantly from the estimate, you may receive a refund or have to pay additional CTF levy. We will contact you if we need more information to process the refund or regarding additional CTF levy.
What do I need to lodge and pay the CTF Levy?
You will need a login to the Levy Portal. If this is your first time logging in, please see the sign-up information in the sections below.
Once you are logged in, you need the following to lodge the levy:
- A unique number for your construction work that you provide
- A unique title for your construction work that you provide
- A description of your construction work
- The local government area or permit issuing authority of your construction work
- Estimated commencement date of construction work
- Estimated completion date of construction work
- Estimated value of your construction work including GST
- Address of your construction work
If you need a building permit for your construction work, the information you provide should match the information in your Building Permit Application.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment can be made online by Credit Card (Visa and Mastercard only) once you levy lodgement has been submitted. There are no additional fees for paying by Credit Card.
If you pay by credit card, you will receive a credit card receipt within five (5) minutes. The receipt can be submitted to the Local Government.
Alternatively, you can pay by Electronic Fund Transfer. You will receive the receipt within three (3) working days.
We do not take payments over the phone or cash payments.
Signing up for Owner-Builders or individuals:
The process for setting up an owner-builders or individuals takes 5-10 minutes.
You will need the following information:
- first name,
- last name,
- email address,
- date of birth.
Your date of birth is needed to identify you should you need assistance on the phone. We cannot help you on the phone if we cannot identify you.
Signing up for companies:
The process for signing up a new company or for signing up a new login for an existing company takes up to three (3) working days. You can speed up the process by responding promptly to requests for verification and/or further information.
If you are setting up a new company account, we may need to call you or a company director to verify information about the business.
If your company has an account with us, we must receive a verification email from your company’s recorded email address to approve the new login.
For companies, you will need your:
- company phone number.
- company name,
- Australian Business Number (ABN),
- company email address,
