Shopfitter

Without the shopfitting industry the tempting displays of retail goods for sale would probably be set up on trestle tables in large buildings that look more like warehouses.

It’s the shopfitter’s job to liaise with a client to plan, design, build and finish the shop interior and turn it into something that people are going to enjoy….encouraging some spending!  Starting with an empty room, they choose, cut and shape the materials to give a shop its own look and style.  Shopfitters make and install shopfronts and entrances, fit out the interiors of shops, banks, offices, restaurants and bars. They coordinate suppliers and the various trades to lay the floors, suspend ceilings, install counters and cabinets, electrical wiring and lighting, paint and decorate so that the retail outlet is prepared for trading.
