Support for apprentices and trainees
An apprenticeship or traineeship allows you to mix work and training for a nationally recognised qualification. Learn while you earn, gain a stronger understanding of the construction industry and become a qualified professional in as little as two to four years of full-time work.
Completing an apprenticeship or traineeship, and can fast track you to management in a trade of your choice. Find your path to success, not just the path everyone else is taking.
Our team at CTF supports the construction workforce through:
Apprentice Completion Grant & Apprentice Support Bonus
The Apprentice Completion Grant (ACG) is a one-off payment of $2,000 plus a $500 reimbursement for tools and safety equipment for construction apprentices and trainees that complete their qualification between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.
Apprentice Support Bonus
New and existing WA construction industry apprentices and trainees can receive $1,000 for completing each year of training, up to $3,000 over 4-years. This payment is for new or existing apprentices who reach the anniversary of their commencement after 1 July 2024.
Upskilling through short course rebates
Access the right support and benefit from our subsidies on short training courses in the construction industry.
If you successfully complete an approved short course by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) listed under our Upskilling and Short Course Funding Program, you may be eligible for a rebate of up to 80% of the total cost.
Eligible short courses typically fall under the following categories:
✓ Construction skills
✓ Industry skills
✓ Software skills
✓ Occupational licensing
✓ Higher qualifications
✓ Occupational health and safety
In some cases, we offer financial assistance to apprentices who live in regional WA and need to travel to attend scheduled off-the-job training with an RTO. Our accommodation allowance program help reduces training costs.
Are you involved in the re-building works of communities impacted by the Wooroloo bushfires and Cyclone Seroja? You could receive a grant of up to $2,000 as an apprentice working in these areas, which can also be claimed to cover travel and accommodation costs.
Pre-Apprenticeship Award Payment
Receive an award payment if you successfully complete a Certificate II pre-apprenticeship qualification acknowledged by CTF.
