Western Australia’s construction sector is set to benefit from a massive boost, with the Construction Training Fund (CTF) doubling its Capital Grant Program to $10 million for the 2026 funding round.
First introduced in 2024, the program is designed to strengthen training capability and capacity in the building and construction sector by supporting private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
The Grant Grants Program supports capital projects that expand training capacity and improve workforce outcomes.
The first round in 2024 saw strong demand, with around $3.8 million awarded to four training providers. In 2025, the program maintained its $5 million pool and sharpened its focus on clean energy skills, regional training access and emerging technologies, distributing approximately $4.1 million in grants.
The expanded 2026 program reflects growing demand for skilled workers across housing, infrastructure and energy projects in Western Australia.
Funding will continue to prioritise projects that improve training quality, increase workforce participation and expand access in regional and remote areas.
Under the program, capital funding is awarded to RTOs based on demonstrated need and must support CTF’s statutory objectives of increasing the number of skilled workers and improving training quality within the building and construction sector.
Funding decisions are guided by government priorities, including housing supply, growth in clean energy skills, diversity and inclusion, modern construction methods, workforce retention, and greater access to training in regional and remote Western Australia.
Applications open on 22 June 2026 and close at 5.00 pm on Friday 17 July 2026.
