What is the Apprentice Support Bonus?
The Apprentice Support Bonus is an annual payment made directly to eligible apprentices and trainees on the anniversary of their apprenticeship/traineeship commencement date.
You can receive this apprentice support payment if you are a new or existing apprentice or trainee who reaches the anniversary of when you started your apprenticeship or traineeship after 1 July 2024. CTF understands training is hard, and wants to offer support for apprentices.
How much can I receive from the Apprentice Support Bonus?
The table below details how your support payment works. Make sure to check the duration of your apprenticeship. If you are part-time, your annual payment will be a part-payment.
Apprenticeship Duration | End of Year 1 | End of Year 2 | End of Year 3 | End of Year 4 | Total claimable |
12 months | $1,000 | $1,000
18 months | $1,000 | $1,000
24 months | $1,000 | $0 | $1,000
36 months | $1,000 | $1,000 | $0 | $2,000
48 months | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $0 | $3,000 |
If you complete your apprenticeship early, you can still receive the remaining Apprentice Support Bonus payments you are eligible for at the end of your apprenticeship. Claims must be within 12 months of reaching your commencement date anniversary.
The Apprentice Support Bonus is available until 30 June 2028 and final claims can be made until 30 June 2029.
How do I claim the Apprentice Support Bonus?
Claiming apprentice support is simple. Beginning in January 2025, if you are an existing apprentice or trainee, an email will be sent to you, congratulating you on your anniversary, and inviting you to lodge a claim in the CTF portal.
If your commencement date anniversary falls between 1 July 2024 and January 2025, you can still lodge an application for an apprentice support payment once claims open.
