APPRENTICES AND TRAINEES
Construction Training Fund offer grants of up to $21,000 to employers to reduce the cost of employing apprentices and trainees. In addition to our grants, you may also be eligible to receive apprentice and trainee incentives from the Commonwealth Government. You can find out more at the Federal Government’s Australian Apprentices Employer Incentives site.
If you are an apprentice or trainee who successfully completed a pre-apprenticeship in a recognised construction trade, you may be eligible to apply for an Award of $250 from the Construction Training Fund. To apply contact us on 08 9244 0100 or email info@ctf.wa.gov.au. We’re here to help.
TRAINING COURSES
Construction Training Fund’s Supplementary Skills program offers rebates of up to 80 percent of the cost of approved short training courses. You can claim a rebate for as many approved courses as you would like to complete. We also help students looking to do vocational education and training (VET) in the construction industry.
We subsidise training courses across the following areas:
- Construction Skills – courses designed to develop, maintain or enhance skills relevant to the building and construction industry
- Industry Skills – courses that meet the broader training needs of the industry in areas such as communication, tenders, small business management and supervisory skills
- Occupational Health & Safety – courses that meet the needs of the construction industry to ensure safe working practice
- Software Skills – courses designed to assist industry to develop foundation skills in areas such as Excel, MYOB and MS Project
- Occupational licensing
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
We also pay a subsidy of up to $400 for candidates who successfully complete a Recognition of Prior Learning/Skills Recognition assessment as part of a recognised building and construction trade qualification.
ACCOMMODATION ALLOWANCE
Eligible apprentices who have claimed relevant accommodation allowances from the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) may be able to claim an additional subsidy of up to $70 per training day from CTF for commercial accommodation to attend off-the-job training with a Registered Training Organisation. You must be able to prove you claimed the DTWD allowance.
