The Construction Futures Centre (CFC) is a career development facility, using AR, VR, simulators and games to give young people (and adults) some ideas of what construction is and what careers are available in the industry. The animated space is for students and adults to explore the wide variety of pathways in the building industry.

Excursions are free and bookings are essential. We take groups of up to 50 for 90-minute school excursions or a one-hour industry walk-through. We also offer bespoke bookings upon request.

Come and visit us at 104 Belgravia Street in Belmont and learn about the careers in construction. Our team caters to all students, focusing on those in years 9 to 11.

Support for Schools and Teachers

Our teaching resources target different ages and learning stages to help schools create a focused learning experience for students visiting our centre. Each learning activity is linked to the WA Curriculum’s work-ready skills and encourages students to be prepared and inspired.

Connect your students with the right support.

For regional areas, we can bring our career incursions to you with talks and expos delivered to schools across the state.

Career Taster

Our Construction Futures Centre team supports students via the Year 9 Career Taster Program (CTP) to make educated career choices. The program is for young people still in school to learn about the industry and get them ready for further study. Students take part in building and construction activities and career development to inspire them on their pathway.

Try-A-Trade

CTF’s fully-funded program gives school students, school leavers and mature-age job seekers a chance to try various trades in the construction industry. Unlock practical training, prepare for specialised careers and learn in-demand job skills while exploring your options.

Each course focuses on two to three trades. Courses run throughout the year and include a combination of trades such as bricklaying, building and design, electrical, civil construction, carpentry, wall and ceiling lining, painting and more.

Pre-Apprentice Scholarship

Pre-Apprentice Scholarship

Year 11 and 12 students can combine work experience, training and education in our scholarship. The program helps students explore and plan career options and may reduce time as an apprentice.

Students can get job-ready with advice from Industry Training Advisors and past students. The program is fully funded. We are now taking expressions of interest for 2023.

VET Programs and Support

If you're interested in construction, connect with a VET program and gain work experience and career support.

Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses are designed for high school students to transition into work and higher education. You can also apply for a $250 award upon completion for eligible Certificate II qualifications.
